Meredith Temple-Smith is a full-time senior lecturer. Her interests include sexual health primary health care delivery, the needs of health professionals in relation to hepatitis C, the control of infectious disease, the doctor-patient consultation and health services research. As Research Training Co-ordinator one of her roles is to increase the research interests and capacity of primary care professionals, and so she is involved in the establishment and development of VicRen, the Department's practice based research network. |

Over the last 20 years Meredith has been employed purely in a research capacity, and so has published widely on a variety of topics, particularly in relation to sexual health. In recent years she has been involved in studies examining the health and treatment needs of people with hepatitis C. She is a longstanding member of the Sexual Health Society of Victoria, and the Public Health Association. She is a foundation member of the Committee of Management of the journal Sexual Health. She is primary editor of the book Sexual Health: an Australian Perspective, and is currently in the process of co-editing a book on Hepatitis C. |
